General Terms of Use
The Terms of Use apply to Users, which means anyone visiting the site, as well as to Members, which means anyone who has an account at WannabeStar.co.uk. When the text below mentions Users or has no specific distinction between Users and Members, it applies to Users and Members both. When the text below mentions Members, it applies to Members only.
The services provided by this website are free of charge. This also means that the services are on “as is” basis and the web site and the web site owners do not accept liability for any damages the use of this web site may cause. The web site may contain links to outside parties, and visiting those links is at the user’s own risk – at no time will the web site and its owners be liable for any damage caused.
The web site reserves the right to use any submitted pictures in the design of this web site, however no pictures will be used outside the domain of this website for any commercial purposes without the express consent of the Member.
The web site commits to not providing Member personal information to any 3rd party in any way where you could be identified on an individual basis, as long as there is no legally binding request from a relevant government authority. Among other things, this means that no Member e-mail addresses will be shared with outside parties. As a Member, you will still have the option of making your e-mail public on the user profile page, if you so wish.
One purpose of the web site is to enable the Members to upload their pictures. Whenever you upload a picture, you must ensure you are clearly identifiable on it. It is also your obligation to ensure that you have all the required permissions for posting the picture on the internet. By using this web site you agree that you will assume any legal liabilities for uploading a picture in case of not having the required permissions for posting it – whether the legal liabilities stem from your direct action or from a 3rd party having access to the uploaded picture and using it without any permissions.
You are not allowed to post fake user data, or impersonate other people. You are not allowed to post a picture of someone else, claiming that you are this person. You are not allowed to have more than one account.
You are not allowed to post any links which link to websites containing viruses, nor are you allowed in any other way to attempt to spread viruses, Trojan horses or other malignant software among the Users.
You are not allowed to break into Members’ accounts or to even attempt to break into those. You are not allowed to employ scripts to view parts of the web site, to rate pictures, to answer questionnaires, etc
It is not allowed to send chain letters and spam, nor to promote pyramid schemes, beg for money or solicit services. It is not allowed to advertise any product or service through your account – e.g. through pictures, comments, forum postings, messages to Members, etc.
To become a Member, you should be at least 14 years old.
You are asked to keep a civil conduct at all times – this means no profanities, harassment, pornography, promoting guns, alcohol, drugs or violence, or inciting someone to break any laws. It is not allowed to promote racial, religious or sexual agendas or to incite people against other people. This applies to any activities conducted on this web site – e.g. forum postings, messages sent to Members, comments underneath the pictures, etc.
The content of forum postings is fully the responxibility of the Member posting the comment - WannabesStar.co.uk and its owners accept no responsibility for the content posted there. WannabeStar.co.uk moderators will moderate the forum and remove unsuitable content when and if it's brought to their attention.
If you break any of the rules above, at the website owners’ or the moderators’ discretion, you could be subject to following actions – either a warning from the moderators or the blocking of your account without any notice. The decision will be final and there is no appeal. In severe cases, involving significant legal violations, the web site will cooperate with the police, help prosecute the case against any offender or seek any suitable legal action.
The owners of the web site my block any account or access to parts of the site without any warning and without providing any explanations.
The Members will be able to de-activate their account whenever they want to. The deactivated account will no longer be visible, but there will be a cooling down period before the account is fully erased. During that cooling down period, it is possible for the Member to recover the account or parts thereof (depending on the options chosen when deactivating the account).
Any account not in use for some time will be subject to being deactivated without any warning. It would still be possible to recover the account within a certain period of time, though.
The Terms of Use may be changed by the owners of the website at any time and without notice (although the owners will make any reasonable attempt to forewarn you regarding any major changes).
If you do not agree with any of the terms outlined above, you are asked not to use this web site as User or Member. By using the web site you confirm the agreement with the terms above.
Additional Terms of Use for Members – submitting pictures
The picture has to be in the JPG format. The maximum size is limited to 640 pixels for the longest side; the shortest side has to be at least 200 pixels. Overall, the picture size should be kept below 100k and no pictures above 150k will be accepted.
The picture must be of yourself and you must be clearly visible on the picture (including your face) – pictures of just other people are not accepted. If there is more than one person in the picture, you have to identify yourself (i.e. by adding a relevant remark in the comment field). It should be clear from the picture itself or from the comment below the picture which person in the picture you are. The number of people on the picture should be kept to a small number (eg below 5 as a rule of thumb).
If the picture includes other people, make sure you have their permissions to upload the picture.
Pornography is not allowed, nor are other indecent pictures. Moderators will decide what constitutes indecency.
Pictures of children below age of 14 are generally not allowed, unless there are other older people present in the picture – generally parents/ legal guardians, older siblings or other close relatives.
The pictures are not allowed to promote drugs, violence, guns, alcohol, etc – as in line with general Terms of Use.
It is not allowed to have advertisements in the picture or in the comment accompanying the picture. You may add a photographer reference /credit in the comment, including using the (c) sign if it is requested by the photographer. If you do so, it is clearly understood that you have the license to publicly display that picture when you indicate credit / copyright. It is not allowed to have company logos or copyrighted materials prominently displayed in the picture.
Manipulated pictures are allowed, if it is done for artistic purposes. However, you yourself must still be clearly visible and recognizable in the picture. It is not allowed to add copyrighted materials and company logos into manipulated pictures. It is not allowed to add the copyright sign into the picture.
You are allowed to only submit one copy of a picture. Multiple copies might be deleted without warning.
By uploading a picture, you confirm that you have all the required rights to upload and display the picture on the internet (included, but not limited to user rights, author rights, copyright, etc, as relevant). Should there be any dispute and/or legal action taken because you have uploaded a picture without the rights to do so, you are fully liable for any legal damages. Additionally, should the uploaded picture used by a 3rd party without the consent of the Member, the Member might still liable for any legal consequences – it is not the liability of the Web site or the owner’s of the web site.
If you believe that a Member has posted a fake picture, or that a picture constitutes a copyright / author rights infringement, please contact the Member in the first instance. Only if this action has not led to a satisfactory outcome (i.e. the removal of the picture), should you contact the web site administration for assistance.
All submitted pictures will be reviewed by a moderator before it is allowed on the web site. The moderators have the right to reject any picture for any reason and a moderator’s decision is final.
