Get a FREE photo shoot in London, Leeds or Nottingham!
PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED
Following the previous photo shoot in May, there is now another opportunity with new photographers!
There are currently 4 free photo shoot opportunities available for 8 people in total. Shoots are done by Natalia Ilina (location shoots in London area), Terry Bracken (studio in Wakefield, Leeds), Richard Tatham (studio shoot in Nottingham) and Simon Harvey (location shoots in London area) in the second half of June / first week of July. Click on the names to find out more about their work.
The photo shoots are completely free and provided on Time for Prints (TFP) basis – or more accurately, on Time for CD basis.
YOU WILL GET FREE:
- Fashion / Casual / Portrait type photo shoot
- At least 2 hour session, giving time to change clothes & sets a few times
- One of the following:
-- Location shoots in London area - Simon Harvey or Natalia Ilina
-- Shoots in photo studio in Nottigham - Richard Tatham
-- Shoots in photo studio in Leeds - Terry Bracken
- A CD with the full sized photos from the shoot
- A number of reduced size photos for Internet use
- Several retouched photos as “the best of” selection of the shoot
Whether you are an experienced model looking to add something new to your portfolio or an aspiring model wanting to build your portfolio from scratch – this could be something for you. And even if you’ve never considered a career in modelling before, now’s your chance to get in front of the camera and try it out! This opportunity is suitable for ages 14+ (fully clothed fashion / casual photo shoots) - for men and women both.
Each of the photographers will do a shoot with two people. Given that this is a limited opportunity, the participants will be selected through a competition. 4 winners will be chosen by the photographers and 4 more will be selected by other members of WannabeStar through voting.
To participate, you need to submit at least one of your existing pictures on WannabeStar.co.uk. Remember, the website is totally free – you only need to pick a user name and password to join (and submit at least one picture if you want to participate in competitions such as this).
Make sure you submit the picture before the end of competition (16th of June). You then need to indicate under “your account” and “your competitions”, which of the four shoots you’d be interested in. You can sign up for all shoots, if you want - but given those are in different areas of UK, you probably want to only sign up for the ones closest to your home. Make sure you check the descriptions of the photographers so you are comfortable with their work and approach - each of the opportunities is different!

The list of contestants will be public - and open for voting to other WannabeStar members. This is now open here. The contestants will automatically get one bonus vote for each picture they have on the site.
And don't worry if you don't get selected this time - there will be more competitions like this in the near future!
Terms & Conditions:
- To participate, you must be at least 14 years old or become 14 during 2008
- If you are under 18, you’ll need parental consent; you must also be accompanied to the shoot by an adult
- If you are 18 or older, you should still bring someone along for the shoot (but it’s your responsibility to ensure they don’t interfere with the work)
- You have to submit at least one photo by June 16th latest - the photo must be on the website on the 16th
- No travel costs are covered – you will have to travel to the studio / location yourself
- Makeup artist will be provided for the shoot with Natalia Ilina and Richard Tatham
- Work scheduling premitting, makeup and styling will be provided for the Terry Bracken shoot by Agnieszka Galat-Bracken
- You might have to be responsible for your own make-up and hair with Simon's shoot - however depending on the circumstances, a hair and make-up artist might still be present (you’ll be informed of this before the shoot)
- Model release form will be signed – giving both the model and photographer non-commercial use of the pictures produced (e.g. for promoting yourself and your work, but not for inclusion in paid work)
- The photo shoots will take place during the second half of June (with possibility of 1st week of July as well) – the exact timing to be agreed with the photographer; make sure you would be available at least some time during that period
- The winners will be announced after 16th of June. After the winner has been announced, he or she has 72 hours to contact the photographer. After that, the chance to participate will go to the people on waitlist on first come first served basis.
